The Yeastar Neogate TG100 is indeed a GSM gateway, designed to link GSM networks to VoIP networks. It allows for two-way communication, essentially bridging the gap between these different types of networks, which are usually incompatible.
In practical terms, it can be used to link IP-PBX (private branch exchange) systems and soft switches to GSM networks. An IP-PBX is a type of telephone switch system within a company that lets the employees use the company's own phones while connecting to the outside world through the public switched telephone network or a VoIP service.
